Royal Windsor Horse Show, taking place from Thursday 15 May to Sunday 18 May 2025, has announced an exciting addition to its renowned Castle Arena programme. Joining an already stellar lineup – including ‘Azerbaijan – Land of Fire,’ the Defender Shetland Pony Grand National, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games, and the Musical Drive of The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, the Royal Cavalry of Oman will return to the Show, this time with their breathtaking ‘Oman – Jewel of Arabia’ display.
The Royal Cavalry of Oman has a rich history, and were last seen at Royal Windsor Horse Show in 2022, when they took part in Her Late Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration. Established in 1974 by His Late Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said with just 20 horses, the Cavalry was created to revive Oman’s deep equestrian traditions while blending the nation’s modern and historical heritage. Since his appointment in January 2020, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has reaffirmed his commitment to preserving this legacy, ensuring that Oman’s equestrian excellence continues to thrive.
This year’s dynamic display is set to take spectators through a journey of Oman’s striking landscapes – from searing deserts to verdant mountains and turquoise seas – brought to life by over thirty Arabian horses, traditional carriages, and a marching band.
Looking ahead to the highly anticipated display, Event Director James Shaw commented: “We are thrilled to welcome back the Royal Cavalry of Oman to Royal Windsor Horse Show. Their display is always nothing short of spectacular, and I have no doubt it will once again leave a lasting impression on our audiences.”
Beyond their dazzling performances, the Royal Cavalry of Oman is involved in breeding and training purebred Arabian horses, which take part in various equestrian disciplines – from racing to polo. Additionally, the Royal Cavalry strives to develop riders to the highest international standards.
With such an exceptional addition to the programme, Royal Windsor Horse Show 2025 promises to be an unmissable event for equestrian enthusiasts and spectators alike.
