Royal Windsor Horse Show Unveils Thrilling line-up of Equestrian Acts and Displays

Royal Windsor Horse Show is set to return to its traditional mid-May slot from Thursday 15 May to Sunday 18 May 2025, bringing with it an unmissable programme of spectacular acts and displays, alongside world-class international equestrian sport that will feature in the iconic Castle Arena.

Following a spellbinding performance in 2024, the ‘Azerbaijan – Land of Fire’ from the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan will once again entertain audiences with a display, which is choreographed exclusively for the Show. ‘Azerbaijan – Land of Fire’ will feature 20 horses and 60 dancers along with  – new for 2025 – a marching band.  The display blends music, movement, and equestrian mastery in a performance that is set to be one of the highlights of the Show.

Looking forward to the return of the Azerbaijan display team, newly appointed Show Director James Shaw commented: “We are thrilled to welcome back the Equestrian Federation of Azerbaijan to Royal Windsor Horse Show. Having never seen them perform live before, I am really excited to witness this spectacular display of a unique and heroic tale told through dance and incredible horsemanship.”

Alongside ‘Azerbaijan – Land of Fire’, spectators will enjoy a host of beloved equestrian displays, including the Defender Shetland Pony Grand National, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games, and the iconic Musical Drive of The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery.

A favourite among visitors, the Shetland Pony Grand National – sponsored by the Show’s Principal Partner, Defender – will see jockeys aged eight to fourteen race around the Castle Arena each day, providing fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat action.

Bringing a similar thrill factor, the DAKS Pony Club Mounted Games, a long-standing Show tradition, will once again see teams from England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland battle it out in a series of challenging yet stimulating races. This competition, which was loved by His Majesty the King when at the Show in 2024, builds to an electrifying final on the last day of the Show, when the winning nation will be crowned.

The Musical Drive of The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery, will provide a display of true military precision. Soldiers will expertly guide teams of six horses pulling wheeled guns, once used in First World War battlefields. The display is executed at high speed and includes intricate, daring manoeuvres creating an unforgettable moment for spectators.

Additionally, on Friday 16 May, the Double Harness Scurry promises to be one of the most exciting displays of the Show. Pairs of ponies and their drivers will take to the Castle Arena, weaving at an exhilarating speed through a course of cones, while grooms expertly balance the carriages by leaning in all directions, guaranteeing extreme entertainment.

With world-class sport and a line-up of thrilling acts and displays, Royal Windsor Horse Show 2025 is set to be a standout event in the equestrian calendar.
