Spinal Research is the chosen charity for Royal Windsor Horse Show 2025
Every year Royal Windsor Horse Show has an official Show Charity that the Show supports through donations, bucket collections and awareness.
The Charity for the 2025 Show is Spinal Research.
At Spinal Research our vision is to create a world where paralysis can be cured, no matter when the injury occurred or where in the world. We will achieve this by funding the most innovative and promising research globally, empowering the next generation of Spinal Research scientists, and pushing the boundaries of science to find a cure.
Today, function-restoring treatments are in human trials, offering real hope that curing paralysis could become the medical breakthrough of the 21st century.
The science is here and progressing rapidly, but what we need now is the funding to accelerate this groundbreaking research for the millions affected in the UK and across the globe.
Leaders in spinal research for 40 years
Over the last 40 years our research has helped to deliver major advances in our understanding of spinal cord biology. These advances have allowed scientists to understand more about how the spinal cord responds to an injury, and what is needed to fix it.
Our most recently funded projects include clinical studies for the restoration of hand and arm function, improvements to help with bladder and bowel control and the reduction of debilitating nerve pain. Improvements in any of these areas will have a huge impact on the everyday independence, spontaneity and quality of life for people living with paralysis.
With numerous trials taking place around the world producing promising results, we are now seeing the first generation of therapies which will deliver functional recovery for those suffering a spinal cord injury.
