We are delighted to announce that Warrior Equine are our Official Show Charity for 2026.
Warrior Equine delivers equine-assisted coaching courses to armed forces personnel, veterans and emergency services workers, with a mission to support individuals experiencing the effects of severe psychological trauma. Their innovative programme uses interaction with horses on the ground, which allows participants of all physical abilities to take part. During the sessions, the horses’ natural ability to mirror human body language and emotional states provides a powerful, nonjudgemental form of feedback for those taking part, helping participants to learn to recognise emotional patterns, regulate responses, and rebuild confidence through calm, focused communication.
Founded in 2019, sessions run by the non-profit organisation have been transformational in assisting those with post-traumatic stress, anxiety, burnout, anger management challenges, social withdrawal and confidence issues. They have worked with veterans, Tri-Service Army Recovery units, the Royal Navy, and the West Midlands Police, while courses have been held across the UK, including at multiple barracks and military establishments, and with units such as the Household Cavalry, Honourable Artillery Company Light Cavalry, and The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery.
Warrior Equine operates without owning its own premises or horses, instead partnering with existing facilities such as local yards, riding schools, and military establishments to provide their life-changing work. This ensures that every donation directly funds the delivery of courses. Royal Windsor Horse Show, whose military connections stretch back to the very earliest years of the Show, during World War II, will be able to support the charity through a variety of initiatives, including donations, bucket collections, and ongoing awareness efforts before, during, and after the event.
Royal Windsor Horse Show Director, Major General Simon Brooks-Ward said, ‘We are absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Warrior Equine as our Official Show Charity for 2026. Their work is nothing short of transformative, offering life changing support to those who have served our country and communities. With the close military ties to the Show through The King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery and Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, this collaboration feels not only natural but profoundly meaningful. We are delighted to help shine a spotlight on Warrior Equine’s vital mission and to play a part in ensuring their remarkable impact reaches even more people.’
Ele Milwright, CEO of Warrior Equine said, “We are truly honoured to be Royal Windsor Horse Show’s Charity for 2026. As a small organisation, this will have a very meaningful impact on our ability to support the recovery and wellbeing of those who have given so much in service to their country and communities. Royal Windsor Horse Show celebrates horses and the military, which sit at the very heart of everything we stand for.”
The Official Show Charity is a partnership which will see Warrior Equine present during the Show, offering opportunities for visitors to learn more about their programmes and the lifechanging impact they have on the Armed Forces, veterans, and emergency services personnel.
